Trysmoon Book 4: Favorite Chapters
At last we come to the end! Book 4 was a lot of fun to write. The pace is frantic with loads of action and a bittersweet ending. In Sacrifice, our heroes and the world they live in are in dire straits, Mikkik having foisted a massive deception on the world. It's all a dangerous rush from there.
There are quite a number of scenes in this book that I really love, so I may have to cheat just a tiny bit and do more than two chapters.

Favorite Scenes: Trysmoon Book 4: Sacrifice
Chapter 77: Blackshire
Call me an old softie, but I enjoy this chapter for its romantic resolution to the Chalaine's desperate love for Gen. In this chapter, she finds out what the name Gen gave her really means and gets to unchain her affection for him. Having the annoying Dason fall and bash his face on the balustrade is just gravy.
Chapter 71: Butchers Gap
Okay, back to the action. Gen and Torbrand Khairn versus an army! This chapter is one I enjoy reading over and over for its frenetic action and its tragedy. It is a shocker when Gen gets killed, though I'm sure most readers realized that this was, in all likelihood, a temporary condition. After all, if Chertanne got a new lease on life (which gave me the pleasure of killing him again), then Gen should too, right? One of my beta readers wrote me a despairing note after Gen got killed. Fortunately, they just had to keep reading.
CHEAT #1: The Epilogue
This was just a lot of fun to write. Readers may pick up on a slight Regency Romance-ish tone to the language and culture going on here. I think I wrote this chapter after I had been watching a bunch of Jane Austen movies (yes, I do that sometimes), and it was a warm-up for writing Flametouched. This is the happily ever after chapter with Gen and Mirelle living a quiet life somewhere in the Rhugothian countryside. One of my readers thought a little Freudian analysis of Trysmoon might be in order after I had Gen marry his mother-in-law, but hey, I think they're a cute couple--in an intimidating sort of way.
CHEAT #2: Chapter 81: Rage
I know, I know. I'm breaking my own rules big time. I'll be short. Gen gets to bust out some of his newly acquired powers in this chapter, and to add to the fun, we get some of Mirelle's conflicted flirting. Good times.
